White Cloud Mountain

People often refer Guangzhou as the "white cloud and pearl sea". The “white cloud” refers to the White Cloud Mountain. Located 17 kilometers north of Guangzhou city, the White Cloud Mountain contains more than 30 odd peaks, with a total area of 28 square kilometers. The highest peak, Moxing Ridge, is 382 meters high, and is known as the “the First Peak under the Southern Sky”. It is said that white clouds often rise on the top of the mountain like a long white cloud vail, hence its name “White Cloud Mountain”. It is one of the oldest mountains in Guangdong, tracing back 400 million years.
White Cloud Mountain is a famous scenic spot in Guangzhou. Visitors can view the whole city from the top of the mountain. It is an ideal sightseeing spot and resort area.
